The Lighthouse is a Baptist church that has been part of our local community for nearly fifty years. Whether you’re new to church, returning after some time away, or have been walking with Jesus for many years, you are welcome here.

We are a church that loves God’s Word and believes the Bible helps guide our faith and everyday lives. Everything we do is shaped by Jesus’ call to love God, love others, and make disciples.

At The Lighthouse, we believe church is more than just attending a service; it’s about growing together. We intentionally walk alongside one another as we learn from Scripture and grow in our relationship with Christ We seek to discover what it looks like to live out our faith at home, at work, and in our community.

Our hope is that as people grow, lives are changed. We desire to see everyday believers become disciple-makers by faithfully following Jesus and helping others do the same. This is a journey meant to be shared, and it extends far beyond our church walls.

At The Lighthouse, we believe the church is called in to be discipled and sent out to shine the light of the gospel in our community and beyond, we would love for you to be part of that journey.

Jim Peper

Jim Peper has been at The Lighthouse since December 2017 and has served as Senior Pastor since 2022. His journey into ministry began after coming to faith in 2006 during his college years, when God gave him a deep love for the local church and for helping people grow in their walk with Christ. Jim’s favorite role is being a husband to his wife, Laura, and a dad to their two boys, Micah and Isaiah. Spending time with his family is what he enjoys most, and he prays his sons will grow up loving Jesus and living faithfully for Him. Jim earned his Master of Divinity from Liberty University in 2018 and loves studying Scripture, reading good books, and teaching the Bible in a clear and practical way. When he’s not at church, he enjoys sports, getting to the beach whenever possible, and relaxing with his family. Jim loves people and has a heart to see The Lighthouse be a place where disciples are formed and sent out to shine the light of the gospel in Sussex County and beyond.
